Terms of Service

Plain English summary: Trouvo is free to use. We find coupons, load them to your loyalty card, and take 20% of the savings we generate for you. If we don't save you anything, you pay nothing. You can cancel at any time.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Trouvo service (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Trouvo Inc. ("Trouvo," "we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Trouvo is an automated grocery savings platform that:

Connects to your grocery store loyalty account on your behalf
Automatically locates and loads available digital coupons and offers to your loyalty card
Monitors your purchase history to identify savings attributable to coupons we activated
Charges a service fee equal to 20% of verified attributable savings

The Service is provided "as is" and we make no guarantee of any specific savings amount. Savings depend on your shopping habits, coupon availability, and store participation.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Grocery Store Credentials

To operate, Trouvo requires access to your grocery store loyalty account. By providing your grocery store login credentials, you:

Authorize Trouvo to access your account solely for the purpose of loading coupons and reading purchase history
Confirm you are the authorized account holder
Understand that Trouvo will store your credentials in encrypted form using AES-256 encryption
Acknowledge that your use of Trouvo must comply with the terms of service of your grocery store

Trouvo will never use your grocery credentials for any purpose other than operating the Service on your behalf.

5. Fees and Billing

Trouvo charges a service fee of 20% of verified attributable savings. This means:

You are only charged for savings directly generated by coupons Trouvo activated on your behalf
If Trouvo generates no savings for you, you pay nothing
Fees are calculated based on coupon redemption data from your store's purchase history
You will be charged via the payment method on file after each qualifying shopping trip
Pre-existing coupons you had loaded before connecting to Trouvo are excluded from billing

We reserve the right to modify our fee structure with 30 days' written notice. Continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the new fee structure.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your Trouvo account at any time through the app or by contacting us at support@trouvo.co. Upon cancellation:

We will immediately cease accessing your grocery accounts
Any fees already incurred for savings generated prior to cancellation remain due
Your stored credentials will be permanently deleted within 7 business days

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

Provide false or misleading account information
Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the Service
Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Share access to your Trouvo account with third parties
Attempt to manipulate or game the savings attribution system

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TROUVO DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY SPECIFIC SAVINGS WILL BE ACHIEVED. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TROUVO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF SAVINGS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU TO TROUVO IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trouvo and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights including your grocery store's terms of service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
